World Cup Psychic Passes Away

Today, residents of Germany are mourning over the loss of one of their most accurate and honest sports commentators: Paul the Octopus. Paul, 2 ½ years old, passed away in his tank at the Sea Life Aquarium earlier today.

Paul was famous for his uncanny ability to predict the winner of each World Cup game, and correctly forecasted all seven of Germany’s games. His preferred method to announce each prediction? Opening one of two plastic boxes: each containing a team flag with a mussel.

It is evident that Germany’s intuitive invertebrate will be greatly missed. Said a spokesperson from the Paul’s home at the Sea Life aquarium in Oberhausen, Germany, “We may decide to give Paul his own small burial plot within our grounds, and erect a modest permanent shrine.”

RIP Octopus Paul
