So Inappropriate
Oden told reporters that someone showed him a report on how frequently his name had been searched. On Tuesday between 4 a.m. and 11 a.m., when the nude photos of him were first released, the increase in searches was described as "volcanic." I guess if you can't penetrate the rim due to a knee injury you might as well penetrate the internet with a volcanic amount of activity. I guess we now know those scandalous shots created quite the eruption.
Oden Got Me Thinking...
So after viewing the pics of Oden in the nude, I got to thinking that perhaps the NBA should add something to their product line. What better way to get women interested in sports than to have offer sex toys "endorsed" by their favorite NBA stars? Just imagine if you could pick up Greg Oden in the back of the NBA store! In the first place, it might alleviate the intense pressure athletes like Tiger Woods and Greg Oden have to share their... "gifts," and focus on more important things like their wives or careers.

Greg Oden, the 2007 #1 overall NBA draft pick has been making news, and not because of basketball. Naked photos of Oden were leaked on the internet. Apparently, Oden's "lady friend" got a tip from Tiger's many mistresses and realized she could be making some good money off her well endowed friend.
Oden has apologized, stating he's embarrassed and realizes he put himself in a vulnerable situation by sending these pictures to anyone. If you look at them, you'll notice these pics were clearly taken on several different occassions. The bulk of the world's male population is also embarrassed as the photos have made them... well, insecure.

I am getting flashbacks of Paul Pierce prior to the 2007 acquisition of Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. Actually, Pierce's attitude had improved dramatically as his team sunk further and further into disarray during the 2006-2007 season when his team lost every single game he missed due to an elbow injury. I believe it was 18 games in a row, setting a franchise record long losing streak. Ouch! And even when Pierce returned the season didn't improve. At that point the best thing going for the team was the hope of winning the draft lottery. The Celtics drew the 5th pick which was a blessing in disguise considering the #1 pick Greg Oden's career to date and the fact that the Celtics finally won a Championship in 2008.
The moral of the story is that there is more than one way to skin a cat. Undoubtedly, the Celtics are a better team now for having struggled through those frustrating years. For example, Rondo has developed into a strong NBA player and I would argue that the playing time he got on the Celtics understaffed team during his first year contributed dramatically to his ability to play with such tenacity so early in his career. Scalabrine now spends most of the time on the bench where he belongs sporting his new wigger look. The bottom line is that I think Cleveland wants to win just as badly as Lebron; they should be able to work something out.
