I Smell Desperation...

Apparently the Tampa Bay Rays gave away 20,000 tickets to last night’s game against the Baltimore Orioles. After poor attendance at Monday night’s game, when only 12,446 fans showed up to watch, the players started to whine.

Evan Longoria called the attendance (or lack thereof) was “disheartening,” while David price posted via Twitter, “Had a chance to clinch a postseason spot tonight with about 10,000 fans in the stands .... embarrassing.”

Seriously, boys? (Yes: boys. You don’t even deserve the “man” title after that one.) Cut it out. You rank 22nd of 30 in the MLB and you’re acting like little girls because people aren’t pouncing to buy $8 beers to watch you lose? HAH. No one likes a whiner, and one thing people like less than a whiner is desperation… and I can smell it 2,000 miles away in Ann Arbor. Maybe if you focused a little more on making it the World Series and a little less on how many people are watching you F-up, people would be more willing to come.
