FANatic: Taking a Digger
I’m still a little torn on whether to laugh at this Phillies fan or sit him down for pointers. Either way, he gets points for effort considering he made the FANatic cut. Check out the video. After briefly chasing the 17-year-old fan around Citizens Bank Park, park security apparently decided they had dealt with enough rampaging for one game and tazered him. He then proceeded to do a face-plant mid-field as the entire stadium stood watching while the po-po figured out what to do with his lifeless body.
Laugh:
Skip to 21 seconds to see the reaction of Phillies players laughing into their gloves as he takes a digger face-first. As if the humiliation of thousands of fans laughing in your face live or the fact that the clip went on to make the evening news wasn’t enough, even the players couldn’t keep it together.
Give Pointers:
If anyone has learned anything from this kid’s move, I sincerely hope it’s the following: go big or go home. If you are going to run across a field, get your ass tazered and have it posted all over the evening news and the internet, you might as well do it in style: throw on a birthday suit for that caliber of special occasion.

FANatic: Disco Stu

While hitting up a game last week, the ladies of CCUB got to witness our latest FANatic in action. With moves comparable to Mr. Presley himself, he spins, he salsas, and he discos right into the hearts of every Nets fan. I’m referring to Disco Stu, of course – the Hawaiian-shirted wonder who takes the Izod Center by storm every game. A season ticket holder for 19 years, you’ll understand his prestigious FANatic award with just one hip swirl. Check it out.

FANatic: Sans Pants
I’m going to go ahead and dedicate this FANatic to an entire genre of sports enthusiasts of all shapes and, er, sizes: Streakers. I don’t think there is one person in their right mind who doesn’t find the idea of a neon-white ass sprinting through a stadium full of thousands of people absolutely hilarious. (And if these people do exist, I don’t want to know their uptight, full-clothed asses anyways). The point of this rant is this: streakers are an absolute staple in the world of crazy fans. It takes some balls to strip down to your birthday suit, especially when their Average Joe bodies are prancing in the vicinity of jaw-droppingly hot athletes.
Although my hat (or should I say clothing in this case?) is off to everyone in the genre, there are a few who truly overachieve in this department. Their nude sprints were not just a drunken decision gone right: these superstars plotted. So, in honor of both their bravery and nudity, I’ve compiled a list of the best streaker pictures I could find for your viewing enjoyment. Cheers.

He may not want to advertise – you never know when El Tigre will pounce.

Now that is serious talent.

A streaking love story. How romantic.

He gets an A for effort, the fact that he may be a senior citizen but isn’t boring and uses his senility card for the greater good, and, of course, those Michael Jackson inspired dance moves.
This man should be the God of streakers. He put his master’s degree in microbiology toward “improve[ing] the efficiency of the world”. How did he do this, you ask? By inventing tear-away garments for streakers. Genius.

FANatic: Dirty Dancing - Livin' On a Prayer
One word: epic. I’m not sure whether or not this crazy Celtics fan is a regular, but if not, he should be. As long as we’re going with the 80’s genre, I’d like to officially put in my request for a little Salt-N-Pepa next game…. Ahh, push it... p-push it good…

FANatic(s): Hogettes

Even though FANatic usually focuses on just one fan with outrageous team spirit, separating this pack of supporters would be like splitting up the 7 dwarfs: you just don’t do it. Together, Hollywood Hillbilly, Nickette, Hog Ed, Spiggy, Howiette, Stoneyette, Porkchop, Edette, Big Georgette, Joevette, BIG MACette and last but definitely not least, Boss Hogette form an elite group of Washington Redskins fans known to all as the Hogettes. Hamming it up at every game wearing women’s dresses, garden party hats and pig snouts, these 12 men aren’t just in it for the beer: they like to bring home the bacon … for charities, that is. Since their founding in 1983, these philanthropic swine have raised more than $100 million for various charities and have been featured in a VISA commercial, appeared on The Tonight Show and three members have even been inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame as “ultimate” fans.

FANatic: Peanut Butter Kid

Ever watched a basketball game and witnessed security guards trying desperately to lasso unruly fans after they rush the court? One particularly creative (or maybe just ballsy) University of Georgia fan figured out a way to Skippy out on that punishment. After covering himself in peanut butter before their big game against Tennessee, this UGA fan knew authorities wouldn’t want to touch his slimy, half-naked body with a 10-foot pole, leaving him free to prance around the court at his leisure. I’m not sure if it’s my obsession with PB&J or the sheer hilarity of the stunt that draws me to the so called “Peanut Butter Kid”, but whatever my reasoning, him and his creative body paint definitely make the cut for my list of FANatics.
