Forcier Leaving Michigan

Boo. Hoo. As a U of M student and fan, I am not disappointed in the slightest.

Tate, who came to Michigan from San Diego, had a brief shining moment in 2009 when he started on as a “true freshman” the team. After injury, academic probation and less than stellar performance on the field, though, Denard Robinson took over, leaving Tate to ride the pine. Even when Robinson was temporarily injured in the Wolverines’ 2010 season, Freshman Devin Gardner was put in over Tate. And Forcier’s reaction? To sit on the sidelines, head down and covered in a towel, pouting like a little bitch boy. After the game, he commented to the press, "All you need to know is I'm out." Newsflash Tate: this isn’t T-ball where all the little boys get equal playing time. This is Big Ten, Michigan Football: you earn the right to a spot on the field. Grow up.

In a press release explaining his leave, Tate commented, “The last few weeks I worked extremely hard to catch back up. I really wanted to stay. I was not giving up on Michigan, but in the end, it was made clear they had given up on me.”

First of all: out of two YEARS at Michigan he decided to finally try hard in the last few WEEKS. Riiiight. Second of all, don’t play it like Michigan just dropped and abandoned you for no reason. You weren’t bringing it on the field, you publically humiliated the program with your puss-face attitude in reaction to not starting, and you were lazy in your attempts in student athlete classes (not exactly the most strenuous of workloads). Oh, and did I mention BOTH of your older brothers were forced to switch colleges due to their football faux paus’ as well? Interesting how history has a tendency to repeat itself…

Take a look in the mirror Tate: it’s not always someone else’s fault.
