And the Strapping Jock Award Goes to...

Not one… not two… not three… but FOUR hockey players in one family? Santa has been too good to us this year. Introducing the Staal brothers: Eric, Marc, Jordan, and Jared of Thunder Bay, Ontario. At 25, Eric is the oldest of the bunch and is captain of The Carolina Hurricanes. In 2003, he was the number 2 pick for the entire NHL, won MVP in the All-Star game in 2008, a Stanley Cup with the Hurricanes in 2006, and won an Olympic gold medal in 2010. There's even talk of him becoming the 2011 All-Star Game Captain on January 30. Next up we have 23-year-old Marc of the New York Rangers. In September he signed a five-year extension with the Rangers at the price of about 20 million big ones and in October, he was named an alternate captain. 22-year-old Jordan is next in the line-up with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Nicknamed "Gronk" by his teammates after the Marvel comics super-hero, Jordan is known in the NHL for his strong on-ice presence and for being one of the premiere penalty killers with his defensive moves. He takes after brother Eric, as he was the 2nd overall pick in 2006 and a Stanley Cup win in 2009. Last but not least is 20 year old Jared of the Florida Everblades, after originally starting out on brother Eric's Hurricanes. If his brothers are any indication, he has a promising career ahead of him. Well, there you have it...quite possibly the most gifted, blessed, and athletic family to exist.
