So NBA free agency (aka where is Lebron going) has been in full swing for a week. So far, some of the notable decisions have been Joe Johnson choosing to stay in Miami, Carlos Boozer going to Chicago, Amare Stoudamire going to the Knicks, and Dwayne Wade choosing to stay in Miami and have Chris Bosh join him. Bosh joining Wade already gives Miami fans reason to be happy for next season, but in a few hours, all sources point to them being happy. That is because Lebron James is making his announcement live, on a 1 hour ESPN special (I could write a whole other post about the ridiculousness of this, but just read this SI piece instead). His decision, regardless of where he goes, is going to have a huge impact on the future of the NBA. According to most sources, after considering Chicago, New York, and New Jersey, Lebron has decided to either join Wade and Bosh in Miami, or stay in Cleveland. If he joins the other two All-Stars in Miami, the Heat would have a three-some that would rival, and possibly surpass, the Boston Three-Party in their prime, and make the Heat the frontrunner not only in the East, but probably in the NBA. James and Wade are two of the top five players in the game, the only question would be whether both stars could share the spotlight. If he stays, Cleveland will finally be able to breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the hometown boy stayed true to his roots and gave Cleveland fans something to be happy about. So get ya popcorn ready, because the fun is just about to get started.
