Okay, so with Spain's impressive victory over the Netherlands yesterday in the World Cup final and the end of the Lebron Love(Hate)fest, not to mention the inevitable post-July 4th low, there doesn't seem to be much going on right now in sports (or subsequently, in life). Baseball is the only sport to watch, and even it is experiencing a few days of All-Star Break rest. Even though many sports fans at least attempt to use these next couple of days to play it off like they're taking a break from sports for a while, there's no denying it: these next few days suck.
Oh, but you'd be so, so, so wrong. While ESPN might be spitting out World Series of Poker re-runs or trick shot pool to the public, the people behind the scenes have made a decision that has awesome implications for the upcoming college football season: College Gameday is now an hour longer, and that extra hour is going to revolve around Erin Andrews.
Now, I know that this announcement may seem primarily geared towards male enjoyment (in addition to the number of female admirers, which I'd guess is higher than you'd think), but in reality, everyone benefits from this addition. College football fans get more analysis, and discounting her looks, Erin Andrews is actually one of the better reporters in the game. How she transitions from the sidelines to the booth is anyone's guess, but I have a feeling she'll do just fine.
This is (mostly) for you gents:
