NBA Free Agent Preview...

I know that the NBA Finals just started this past thursday, but since I can't really tolerate either team, I'm looking ahead to the next big NBA activity: free agency. Everyone and their mom already know about King James being a free agent (SportsIllustrated.com actually has a news-update solely dedicated to Lebron rumors. It's called Lebron-Watch). Half of the cities in the US half some kind of ridiculous advertising scheme devoted to hopefully improving their chances with the Cleveland star, and even the president is getting involved. Then, you also have the promotional video featuring Governor of New York, Michael Bloomberg, where he essentially makes New York a laughing-stock to all not from there:

But there are many more prominent free agents potentially looking for new homes this summer. Other notable free agents include Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Dirk Nowitzki, Amare Stoudamire, Joe Johnson, and Ray Allen. Of course, only so many teams have the cap room to land one of these stars. The New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls are some teams that have been aggressively shedding expensive contracts to have a chance to land one or more of these All-Stars, because as we saw in 2008 with the Boston Celtics, getting a few big-time players on the same team can quickly turn around a franchise.

For those of you interested in seeing what the status is for your favorite team, here is a list of all the free agents for this year and next.
