Minnesota defensive back Michael Carter was arrested outside a campus pizza shop for obstructing the legal process, a 5-0 favorite, and underage drinking. Apparently Carter was trying to start a fight before his arrest. The matter is being handled "internally" and Carter will be allowed to play this weekend against Illinois.
Overall reaction to the news: classy, really classy!
Meanwhile, two other Gophers players have been suspended for at least two games for breaking team rules. Royce White and Devron Bostick have both been suspended and another player, Trevor Mbakwe, was previously suspended after felony aggravated battery charges were brought against him. It is unclear why Carter won't be punished in the same way.
