On the Court, Out of Control

There is something about off-the-wall coaches that add a 'lil somethin' somethin' to the game. The same thing that is entertaining about Managers screaming at umpires or hockey players fighting is entertaining about basketball coaches screaming at officials. Namely, seeing grown men acting like children makes us all feel a little warm and fuzzy inside because we envy the fact that this person has so little control over themselves that they just say what they want to say, how they want to say it, regardless of what it costs.

Well, that cost was $60,000 for Bobcats coach, Larry Brown. Brown was given two technical fouls and ejected from a pre-season game on Monday night. On the one hand I question whether a pre-season game is really worth $60,000. On the other, the official is a "replacement" official because the "real" officials are locked out over a labor dispute. I don't know what really happened, but I am intrigued!
