#1 Play gets Wolverines Dropped from the Rankings

The University of Michigan made it to #1 this weekend as part of ESPN’s Top 10 Gridiron Plays. Unfortunately, the Wolverines were on the losing side when Michigan State University freshman Larry Caper ran for a 23-yard touchdown in overtime to give the Spartans a 26-20 victory.

Tate Forcier powered Michigan through the 4th quarter, giving the Wolverines a chance for victory in overtime. He was unable to seal the deal when he threw an interception during the first possession of overtime, after which MSU tore through Michigan’s pathetic defense for an easy touchdown.

This game marks the first time in 42 years that MSU won back-to-back victories over Michigan. It also marks Michigan’s first loss of the season. So much for being undefeated, and now the Wolverines aren’t ranked either.
